The work under this Contract generally consists of the Asphalt Resurfacing of O’Loane Avenue from Lorne Avenue to Dannecker Road. The road widening activities primarily relate to the removal of the existing asphalt, excavating the shoulders and placing new granular materials to accommodate the road widening, and digging / grading for new ditches where indicated on the contract drawings. The Contractor will be allowed to close O’Loane Avenue to northbound traffic, but must maintain one lane of southbound traffic. No work will be taking place at the Dunn’s Bridge. The Contractor will stop work at station 0-140 and resume at 0-190. The City of Stratford is also seeking provisional prices to perform work on Wright Boulevard (80m south of Lorne Avenue for 425m) and Lorne Avenue West (Linton Ave to 100m west of Erie Street). Included in Section 7 is a map for the provisional work. The Wright Boulevard provisional work will consist of cold grinding 45mm of asphalt, removing and repairing localized areas of the base asphalt, tack coating, and placing surface asphalt. The Lorne Avenue west provisional work will consist of full depth asphalt removal, grading the granular base, and placing asphalt. This section of Lorne Avenue is 12.4m from edge of granular shoulder to edge of granular shoulder. The Contractor must maintain two lanes of traffic on Lorne Avenue at all times. |
